“The Lucky Hour”
After many years of service this faithful Salmon troller spends its last days in the harbor at rest. The ironic name of this vessel is testament to the positive attitude of all fisherman.

“Yaquina Bay Bridge”
The graceful span of Yaquina Bay Bridge is framed by spruce and coastal pine as a 44-foot Coast Guard motor life boat heads for open sea. Like many coastal Oregon bridges built during the Depression it was designed by state engineer Conde McCullough.

“Yaquina Bay Bridge At Sunset”
The clouds above the Yaquina Bay Bridge are aglow with vivid color as twilight approaches on the quiet waters of the bay. The bridge, with a span of 3,260 feet, measures 245 feet at its highest point and 138 feet at deck level. It was completed in 1936.

“Birds Eye View”
Yaquina Head Lighthouse was built in 1873 and is still active today; its 93-foot tower is Oregon’s tallest. The surrounding Yaquina Head Outstanding Natural Area is home to gulls and puffins, harbor seals and gray whales, as well as numerous tide pool creatures. With improvements by BLM, you will have ready access to all of natures wonder.

“Storm Watch”
The Yaquina Head Lighthouse, built northwest of Newport in 1873, stands its lonely vigil against the oncoming storm. The housing quarters were removed in 1984, leaving the original 93 foot tower (Oregon’s tallest) and adjoining building.

“Twilight”
Day and night merge as twilight, on the Oregon Coast. Can you find the silhouette of the crouching lion in the rocks?
